The Struggle of Finding the Right Programming Partner for Project

The Struggle of Finding the Right Programming Partner for Project

Tips on finding programming partner which will actually help you finish your project

Have you ever gotten into this situation? You have a great idea for your next programming project and you have time to build the project? But there is one problem. You can’t do it alone. Either it would take a long time or you lack some of the skills needed to build, test and deploy the project.

So you start searching for some programming partners that would help you with your project. Either you looked into some free communities or uploaded your project to GitHub but everybody that you found left after a few weeks or even after a few days. Let me tell you something. You are not alone in this. This happened to nearly every one of us. It is a struggle that a lot of self-thought as well as graduated programmers have. Matter of fact as much as 85% of programmers who responded to my small independent survey experienced this struggle.

Just to be on the same page here I do not blame free communities for this. Even though they are not as good in providing programming partners these communities are one of the best places for programmers to learn, get help or share interesting thoughts.

If you are still looking for programming partners here are some tips for you.

Firstly, the best solution for this problem is to find or ask somebody in person. If you are still in high school or college go look for some coding clubs or coding classes. Often high schools as well as colleges have these so students can learn to code in their free time. On the other hand, if you are working go ask some interns if they would be interested in helping you out. These guys usually have more time than seniors and would be glad to add another interesting project to their portfolio.

Secondly, you can try looking for some private or paid websites made especially for finding programming partners. These private/paid communities or websites usually have more reliable people. Because people have to pay – even if it is a small fee – they usually consider it more when joining a project so they do not just waste money on something they do not even like that much. One I created is called DevBud https://devbud.eu. Even though it is yet to be launched in a few days I believe it will be a great place for programmers to find reliable partners.

Finally, I would like to say that none of these tips guarantee you 100% that you will finish your project and your partner won’t leave you. Sometimes there is something more important at the moment and they suddenly have to stop working on the project but I hope these tips help you increase the chance of finding a reliable partner who will be there until finish.

Good luck finding programming partners,
